He grew up in the area and was a great guide. We caught a ton of bonito and pompano! They made for great ceviche and sashimi! I highly recommend booking with them!Posted on TripAdvisorVerified Great trip to Marietas The two-person team—the driver and the guide—did a great job getting us to the islands and to the best spots at the right times. It was high tide when we arrived at Hidden Beach, so they took us to the other island for snorkeling instead. It was great there. We saw several large schools of fish and some nice colors. Next to Lovers Beach, which was quite crowded. Then we went back to Hidden Beach where the tide was a bit lower, so we could navigate the entry tunnel more easily. Getting back to town was rough due to the wind and waves, but the driver did a good job of balancing speed and comfort. We saw other boats that were jam-packed and weren’t guaranteed to make it to Hidden Beach. We were very grateful to be on a small, private boat tour of just 8 people!Posted on TripAdvisorVerified Recommend The tour guides were knowledgeable and spoke both English and Spanish. It was a no-frills, small-group experience, which we prefer over a party boat scene. Bottled water was provided. The tour lasted just over two hours. We saw whales, went scuba diving, and visited Hidden Beach. Swimming out to Hidden Beach took some time and effort due to the waves and currents.Posted on TripAdvisorVerified Fun Adventure! A really fun day. We saw 7 whales, and the skipper drove the boat quite close so we had great views of the whales flipping their tails and surfacing and diving. We saw lots of birds—pelicans, frigatebirds, and blue-footed boobies. The volcanic rock formations are beautiful. Snorkeling was just okay. There wasn’t much diversity among the fish. Juan and Jorge were friendly and knowledgeable. I would definitely take this trip again.Posted on TripAdvisorVerified Surprisingly fun—a must-do! We set off from a small local beach. No marina. You wade into the water to board the smaller boats. The captain was knowledgeable and friendly. The 80-meter swim was a bit of a workout with the current working against you on the way in, but easier on the way out. Water and soft drinks are provided, but you need to bring your own towels. No sunscreen allowed when heading to the beach or snorkeling to protect the reef. Whale watching on the way back wasn’t even part of the tour, but the captain took extra time to watch the whales, and the show was spectacular—two even breached right next to the boat. This smaller group tour of 8 people is perfect for really enjoying the beaches and scenery. Bathrooms at the office require a fee to use. The area is “local” and not touristy.
